Safari Overview

This is an extra ordinary experience in the Eastern arc in northern Tanzania. Usambara and Pare mountains have long history to learn and the landscape is so beautiful to explore and hike the mountains. Usambara is found in Lushoto in Tanga region, the place that was lived by the Germans who also initiated forms of civilization and settlement. In this trip you will be able to visit national park in Eastern arc in Mkomazi, the Amboni caves in Tanga, Pangani beach and Zanzibar holiday to learn the long history of the dark history of slaves market and the blue safari in the Indian ocean.

Day 1 –> Arrival to Tanzania

Welcome to Tanzania. The driver will pick you up at the airport then drive you to Moshi. Overnight at the hotel or lodge in Moshi town.

Day 2 –> Moshi to Same

After the morning breakfast at the hotel the driver will pick you up, load the vehicle and drive to Same district. On the way you will see the banana farms and grains, the Swahili settlements of different ethnic tribes and reach to Same the land of the Pare people in the afternoon. Arrivals to Same you will sign in to a lodge, get lunch, relax and get time to explore the settlement of Pare people. Overnight in Same.

Day 3 –> Mkomazi National Park

After the breakfast the driver will pick you up at the hotel, load the vehicle with drinking water and lunch boxes then drive to sign in to Mkomazi National Park. The park has abundant wildlife including the big number of Rhinos. This will be a day trip game drive for you to explore wildlife and the potential of natural environment. You will have lunch box at the park and in the late afternoon you will drive back to your hotel in Same. Overnight at hotel in Same.

Day 4 –> Pare Mountains and cultural experience

After the breakfast at the hotel it is another beautiful day in Same you will be able to hike in Pare mountains and come back for lunch at the hotel then you will get good opportunity to visit the natives in different interesting activities of cultural traditions in Pare community. Overnight at the hotel in Same.

Day 5 –> Maasai of Moipo Experience

After the relaxed morning breakfast at the hotel the driver will pick you up and start your journey to Maasai community. Near Same district the Maasai people live there in a place called Moipo. You will get an opportunity to visit the natives of Moipo community and share with them their cultural traditions. Arrivals to the Maasai village you will be able to meet elders, women and children in a Maasai boma. Get boma orientation and culture of the Maasai people, you will attend herding, help women to fetch water and collect firewood. In the evening you be milking cows and goats for experience of Maasai way of life. Sleep and overnight at the Maasai boma.

Day 6 –> Moipo to Lushoto in Usambara Mountains

This is a traveling day to Lushoto in Tanga region. After breakfast the driver will drive you to Lushoto as you will be driving up the mountains after turning left leaving behind the highway to Dar es Salaam. Arrivals to Lushoto in the upper highland of Usambara Mountains you will have an opportunity to see the tarmac road paved by the Germans long ago and some of the old houses built by the Germans long ago. Overnight at the lodge in Lushoto.

Day 7 –> Hiking in Usambara Mountains

This is a relaxing day of hiking in Usambara Mountains in whatever direction of trail the local guide recommend to you because all trails are good and beautiful due to the physical manifestation of environment. After a relaxed breakfast you will start your day trip of hiking. You will grab and carry your water and lunch box. At the time of your choice you will come back to Lushoto town and explore the culture and life style of the local people then walk back to your lodge. Overnight at the lodge in Lushoto.

Day 8 –> Lushoto – Amboni Caves – Pangani Beach

This is a traveling day for another beautiful adventure for your experience. On the way you will visit Amboni caves which are the most congested limestone caves with 900 metres in length. Stopping at Amboni caves you will sojourn the place with native guides for about an hour or so then drive towards Pangani beach. Arrivals to Pangani in the estuary of Indian Ocean you will relax and swim in the ocean. Overnight at the lodge in Pangani.

Day 9 –> Pangani – Bagamoyo Ruins

After early breakfast you will drive to Bagamoyo. This is a traveling day to Bagamoyo, the place of world class historical sites and one of UNESCO World Heritage Site with rich cultural heritage waiting for you to explore it. Bagamoyo was once the most important trading ports in the coast of East Africa in the 19th century for ivory and slaves. In this trip at the arrival to Bagamoyo you will visit Kaole ruins and 30 graves from the 13th century, remnants of Mosque and tombs which date back to the 7th century. In the late afternoon you will be able to see the ocean on the side of Bagamoyo and get time to walk along the beach and swim. Overnight at the hotel in Bagamoyo.

Day 10 –> Bagamoyo – Dar es Salaam – Zanzibar

This is the last day of this program at Bagamoyo and Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar. After the breakfast at the hotel the driver will drive you to Dar es Salaam the biggest city in Tanzania. On this trip it is your choice either to end you trip in Dar es Salaam and pick up your flight in Julius Nyerere International Airport for your flight back home or you can choose to take a luxury boat from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar another beautiful Island with historical ruins of the dark history. In Zanzibar you will book a hotel by yourself or we can also arrange that for you or we can arrange everything for you on Zanzibar trip exclusively.
